Our Story
Spending even a few minutes in the great outdoors has gotten me through some of the roughest time periods in my life. And for years, I bought the things I needed for my ever growing adventures simply because I needed them. But then, these things I needed started getting really expensive (and not so cute) and I grew increasingly frustrated every time I was on the hunt for something new. I finally had to put my foot down.
The solution: an online destination specifically for women who enjoy being outside that's less intimidating , less in-your-face technical and way more considerate of your actual needs in clothing, gear, planning, and everything in between.
My goal is for Brave New World to feel like a community and a best friend who can help answer all those questions about hiking, camping, whatever. And not in a granola-y vibe kinda way. In a hey girl you've got this kinda way and yes your butt does look damn good in those leggings kinda way. Because the overwhelm of making a decision about what to buy shouldnt keep you from trying to try hiking for the first time or going the hundreth time. We're here to make it easier to get outside.

We test them on our own bodies, in our own lives and we promise to never recommend anything that we wouldn’t recommend to our closest friends. We’re as frustrated as you are by the status quo of outdoor “gear,” and trust us when we say these high standards eliminates partnering with 99% of existing brands.
